Lately a city we love and consider our second home has been in the news a lot. This city is use to being the subject of raving articles on all it has to offer, often referred to as America’s most romantic city and consistently winning over visitors with a genuine and heartfelt humanity you simply can not fake.
The city I’m referring to is Charleston South Carolina. It is the second largest city and the oldest city in South Carolina. Known for its rich history, well-preserved architecture, distinguished restaurants, and mannerly people, Charleston has received a large number of accolades, including “America’s Most Friendly City by Travel & Leisure in 2011 and in 2013 and 2014 by Condé Nast Traveler, and also “the most polite and hospitable city in America” by Southern Living magazine.
All these accolades explains why when evil came to their city they meet it with love. Having lived in this city for almost 3 years I can attest to the fact that all that you seen and read about the outpouring of forgiveness, love and unity were real and not contrived or fake for the camera. The community pulled together like no other city could. They came together all races, religions and nationalities to show the world how Charleston together helped each other through a very horrific time in its recent history.
Sure I know this has nothing to do with Orange County real estate, but there are times when some things are worth mentioning even if they have nothing to do with Orange County or real estate.
So next time you read about this fine city please remember that Charleston together as a city overcame hate with love.
I would also highly recommend you take a trip there you will be drawn in by its southern hospitality and charm after all it was voted America’s most romantic city in 2014.
