The Elephants have Arrived in Dana Point!
As summer draws to a close we got one more treat in Dana Point – a herd of elephants spread through the city. Dana Point is the first US city to host the Elephant Parade. Since 2006 more than 5 million dollars has been raised through the sale of merchandise and auction of elephants by the Elephant Parade in support of the Asian Elephant Foundation.
The elephant statues are created by local and international artists and are undeniably eye catching around town. We took advantage of our Dana Point office and wondered around and caught a few of these elephants on camera. They were the talk of the town, and if you have kids they will really get a kick out of them.
The elephants will be on display until November 7th at parks, the Harbor, the beaches and the resort area properties. A closing ceremony is scheduled for November 10th through the 16th at Lantern Bay Park and some elephants will be auction on November 17th at the Marriott Hotel at 25135 Park Lantern.
